How to service and repair the ignition switch on Toyota Sienna?

A technician must start the ignition switch repairing sequence by disconnecting the negative terminal cable from the battery. The lower steering column cover requires a key to unlock the steering lock mechanism before performing clockwise wheel turns for screw removal and subsequently counterclockwise wheel motion to access the remaining one screw. Complete the lower steering column cover removal by detaching its four claws. Before installation begin with disconnecting the ignition switch connector which enables removal of the ignition switch assembly by means of 2 screws. Execute installation through two screw fixation of the ignition switch assembly and rejoining the ignition switch connector. Reattach the lower steering column cover after attaching its 4 claws and inserting the key to unlock the steering lock and twisting the steering wheel counterclockwise to mount then screw then twisting it clockwise to screw in the second screw. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery as the last step.
