Installing the skid control sensor requires removing all sealant from its fitting surface through white gasoline treatment before mounting the sensor rotor in place. A new sensor should go onto the rear axle hub and bearing while the sensor connector points toward the lowest part of the assembly where the narrow aspect faces downward. The sensor installation process requires Special Service Tool: 09214-76011 together with a press to push the speed sensor until it is level with the rear axle hub and bearing while keeping in mind to avoid using a hammer and to verify that no iron chips or other foreign substances exist on the detecting surface of the sensor before straightly pressing it into position. After installing the rear axle hub and bearing assembly you should proceed to install the skid control sensor wire and finally the rear brake drum sub-assembly. The rear wheel should be mounted followed by a torque application amounting to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf). How to remove the front wheel speed sensor on Toyota Prius?

First unfasten the front wheel followed by the front fender liner to access the front wheel speed sensor. Unplug the sensor connector while you detach the 2 bolts (A and B) and clamps from the body and front shock absorber but keep in mind that bolt B requires the brake flexible hose clamp to be tightened. Proceed by separating the clip from the front shock absorber and then removing the bolt and sensor from it.
