Toyota Matrix A/C Clutch is a part of the Toyota Matrix automobiles intended for an air conditioning system, which is famous for its quality and efficiency. This A/C Clutch effectively transmits and modulates the engine power to the A/C compressor, and comes on when the feature for air conditioning is switched on. Located in the belt pulley is another component that the Toyota Matrix A/C Clutch uses to fix the belt drive, with the help of a magnetized drum, so that when it is engaged, the belt drive operates to the optimum without putting unnecessary pressure to the engine whenever disengaged. Besides increasing the effectiveness of the air conditioning system, this feature assists in improving the safety and durability of the car. This A/C Clutch can be used with different Toyota Matrix models; the first generation Matrix that was produced between 2003 and 2008 as well as the second generation Matrix that was manufactured between 2009 and 2014. Nevertheless, the problem related to this design can be sticking or slipping, which can degrade the performance of the A/C and cofsequently, fuel consumption. Hence, maintenance, as well as proper diagnosis of the A/C system, must always be carried out routinely. In automotive market, there is no better specification that matches the need of the Matrix A/C Clutch than this component since it is sturdy and plays an important role in regulating the car interior climate. Through the case of the Toyota Matrix A/C Clutch, it can be seen how Toyota always apply quality and innovation to its vehicles, so people can count on their Matrix for quite a long time.

Toyota Matrix A/C Clutch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and replace the A/C Clutch and compressor on Toyota Matrix?
    A:
The first step to replace the compressor and magnetic clutch for the 1ZZ-FE requires refrigerant discharge from the refrigeration system. Unscrew the bolt to disconnect the suction hose sub-assembly between the compressor and magnetic clutch from cooler refrigerant suction hose No. 1 before removing the attached O-ring. Take vinyl tape to cover all sealed openings on detached parts to stop both moisture and foreign substances from getting inside. The first step is to detach the discharge hose sub-assembly from the compressor and magnetic clutch after removing the bolt and disconnecting it from the compressor and magnetic clutch before removing the O-ring and sealing all openings with vinyl tape. First disconnect the connector and remove all 3 bolts from the compressor and magnetic clutch then take off the generator V belt together with the fan and engine under cover RH. Begin installation by fastening the compressor and magnetic clutch with their three bolts and tighten bolt A only until the compressor reaches proper position before finishing installation. From behind the compressor place downward pressure while torquing bolts B, C, and A to 24.5 N.m (250 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf) in sequential order. The discharge hose installation requires compressor oil on the new O-ring surface before fitting the component with a secure bolt torque of 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf). The procedure should be followed for the suction hose sub-assembly by applying compressor oil to the new O-ring and fit surface before securing it. The process ends with refrigerant charging followed by engine heating while examining for any refrigerant losses.
