The first step to install the park/neutral position switch assembly includes attaching it to the automatic transaxle while temporarily mounting the 2 bolts. The installation requires the lock plate and new one before manually tightening the manual valve shaft nut to 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 in-lbf). First secure the control shaft lever but only for a short time before turning it counterwise until completely stopped then shift it clockwise 2 notches before removal. Set the groove on the neutral basic line before fastening the switch in place with 2 bolts tightened to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). Stake the nut using a screwdriver after placing the lock plate then install the control shaft lever with its nut and washer before tightening to 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf). The park/neutral position switch assembly can receive the connector after installation. You should combine the transmission control cable assembly to the control shaft lever using a nut providing 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf) tension and then fasten it to the bracket through a new clip. Check and adjust the shift lever position followed by verification of both park/neutral position switch assembly and shift lever position. Mount the engine under the LH cover as the concluding step.
