Toyota Avalon Coil Springs Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and replace the front shock absorber with coil spring on Toyota Avalon?
A: The first step to change the front Shock Absorber with coil spring involves wheel removal. First separate the front stabilizer link assembly LH by using a hexagon (6 mm) wrench to hold the stud when the ball joint turns with the nut while disconnecting it from the shock absorber assembly front LH through nut removal. The front shock absorber lock nut should be loosened yet those who need to keep their shock absorber whole can skip this step. Remove the bolt to disconnect the speed sensor front LH wire harness and the front flexible hose No. 1 from the system. Loosen the 2 nuts holding the coil spring shock absorber at its lower side but keep the bolts in position. First take out the 3 upper nuts from the front shock absorber with coil spring, then detach the 2 lower bolts of the front shock absorber and front shock absorber with coil spring while paying attention to keep the collar secure unless a front suspension upper brace center exists.
