In order to access the rear spoiler you need to take out the 2 grommets and bolts, disconnect the center stop light, and disassemble it. Take a drill with a taped tip in order to cut rivets flanges to remove clips. Take care not to spoil the rivet hole or the drill. Lastly, take out the 2 spoiler clips.

How to replace the rear spoiler on Toyota 4Runner?

To change the rear spoiler, take off grommets, bolts and center stop lamp connector. Carefully cut the rivets flanges, and then take out the rivets. New clips with waterproof rivets, fix the center stop lamp assembly and then attach the spoiler with bolts and grommets are installed and made sure that they are properly torqued.
