How to service and repair the power steering pump on Toyota 4Runner?

In order to service the power steering pump, take off the air cleaner assembly and disconnect the return hose. Disconnect the oil pressure switch, and withdraw the pressure feed tube. The PS vane pump assembly can be removed by loosening the drive belt and then removing it. Reassemble parts, with appropriate torque requirements, and aspirate the system.

How to install a Power Steering Pump on Toyota 4Runner?

Install vane pump with E10 Torx; torque 22 Nm. Tighten two bolts/nut; torque 43 Nm. Turn tensioner CCW; fit V-belt bolt. Connect pressure tube with new gaskets; torque union bolt 50 Nm. Attach reservoir hose with clip; secure hoses with two clips. Install air cleaner, add/bleed PS fluid, check PS leaks.
