How to Service and Repair an Ignition Coil on Toyota 4Runner?

The first step to work on an ignition coil involves removing the air cleaner hose before you disconnect the high-tension cords from each coil. After disconnecting the 3 connectors from the ignition coils you can remove the 3 ignition coils from the LH cylinder head by unscrewing their bolts and follow an ordered arrangement of ignition coils during disassembly. Secure the 3 ignition coils onto the LH cylinder head by using the 3 bolts while torquing them to 7.8 Nm (80 kg.cm, 69 in.lb) before reattaching the 3 connectors to the ignition coils. As the last step connect the igniter to the high-tension cords before putting back the air cleaner hose.
