Scion xD TPMS Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on Scion xD?
A: The first step for removing the Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter requires wheel removal from the front and rear positions. Take out air pressure from the tire through the removal of its valve core and its cap. Release sufficient air from the tire before removing the nut and washer that keeps the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter in place. The valve will then drop inside the tire. Place both the removed cap along with the valve core in a safe location. The operation to disengage the bead must be performed with the tire remover shoe while avoiding any contact damage to the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter that interacts with the tire bead. First remove the upper bead as normal before retrieving the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter. Further follow the same technique to remove the lower bead from the tire. Replacement of the grommet should happen even when no apparent damage exists.
