The Vapor Canister is a critical, high quality part of the evaporative emissions control (EVAP) system often included in the Scion tC lineup of cars. This efficient Vapor Canister helps in absorbing/collecting fuel vapors from the fuel tank to eliminate the release of hydrocarbons to the environment. At times, the stored vapors are allowed to discharge into the engine, where they liquefy, mix with air to fuel the combustion system thus providing efficiency and safety. The Vapor Canister fits numerous generations of the tC, thus making it possible that drivers reap from the advanced features like integrated diagnostic features that are compatible with today's OBD II. It specifies canister vent solenoid and fuel tank pressure sensor that assist in the identification of leaks and the most efficient functioning of controlling emissions of the vehicle. The manufacturers of the Scion tC coupe especially appeal to the younger generation for its stylish design and low price that makes the Vapor Canister's responsibilities to justify and enhance the vehicle performance and eco-friendliness a noble cause. The Vapor Canister impresses the automotive market promoting the tC's I4 2AR-FE engine and stability control systems. The reliability and efficiency not only make a great contribution to the performance of the tC but also meet customer's increasing environmentally friendly car. Finally, the tC Vapor Canister is a perfect representation of the brand's innovation and environmental concern in creating this beautiful machine for the Scion tC lovers.

Scion tC Vapor Canister Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to install the Vapor Canister on Scion tC?
    A:
Installation of the Evaporative Emission Control Canister starts with installing the canister filter sub-assembly through a bolt torque to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf) and connecting its two hoses. The installation of the canister begins by first hooking the claw of the bracket onto the fuel tank hoses before installing both 2 bolts that require a torque of 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). The installation of the fuel vent hose begins with coupling the pipe to the fuel tube connector while pushing the retainer until claws lock into position and checking for potential fuel tank vent hose damage both before and after installation. Emphasize the alignment between pipe and connector for the fuel tank before pushing it in until you hear the "click" which indicates proper attachment. The fuel emission hose together with one leak detection pump connector of two must be installed with clamps. Next follow with the installation of rear suspension brace lower RH and No. 1 fuel tank protector followed by center Exhaust Pipe assembly and front floor panel brace. Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal while keeping in mind that system initialization might be necessary after cable reconnection and check for exhaust gas leaks.
