Scion tC Sway Bars link the suspension across the vehicle to suppress lateral deformation. They therefore help the body remain flatter on uneven pavement or when cornering, which minimizes body roll. These Sway Bars utilize the suspension of the Scion tC to keep the tires in constant contact with the road surface, allowing for a stable ride with steering response. The Sway Bars for Scion tC counter both lateral and rotational forces that would cause the car to lean and possibly lose traction. This lessens the likelihood of a spin during sharp turns. The part can be made in various thicknesses and compositions, with the difference resulting in a change in overall stiffness. Larger diameters are suited to take stronger lateral loads commonly found in track conditions while smaller diameters are up to matching daily street driving demands. Dissimilar Sway Bars may also come in different colors or finishes as well. No matter how big or small, or how they look, Scion tC Sway Bars are designed to provide any driver with controlled, predictable handling.

Scion tC Sway Bars Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the rear Sway Bars on Scion tC?
    A:
The first step to remove the rear Sway Bars is to detach the left-hand side rear sway bar link assembly by unscrewing its 2 sway bar link nuts and sway bar link and retaining the Ball Joint from turning with a 5 mm hexagon wrench on the stud. The same removal steps should be executed for the sway bar link assembly on the right-hand side rear. The procedure starts with removing the rear Sway Bars where you need to detach two bolts and two nuts along with two No. 3 sway bar brackets on the suspension member and finish by taking out the two sway bar bushes from the Sway Bars.
  • Q: How to install the front Sway Bars and related components on Scion tC?
    A:
Installation of the front Sway Bars starts with positioning the Sway Bars followed by attaching the front No. 1 sway bar bush with its cutout at the rear side. The installation of the sway bar brackets starts with attaching the front No. 1 bracket LH to the suspension crossmember via 2 bolts which need 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf) torque. Repeat this procedure for the front No. 1 bracket RH. After the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly installation, install the No. 1 hook. Use the same installation steps for the RH side to connect the front suspension No. 1 lower arm sub-assembly LH and RH. The automotive technician must first install the front sway bar link assembly LH and RH before proceeding to connect the pressure feed tube assembly. Reconnect both tie rod end sub-assembly components LH and RH according to the earlier procedures used for the RH side. Fit the center Exhaust Pipe assembly followed by front floor panel brace before installation of the front wheel. After attaching the No. 1 steering column hole cover sub-assembly and the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly it is necessary to install the column hole cover silencer sheet. The installation of the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly includes power steering fluid addition followed by power steering fluid bleeding. Inspect the power steering fluid level in the reservoir before looking for any fluid leaks. First inspect the hood sub-assembly before performing an adjustment then perform an inspection and adjustment of the front wheel alignment. The installation of the engine under cover should occur on both LH and RH sides.
