Scion tC Car Battery holds electrical energy to enable the engine to start and the electronics to remain running until the alternator takes over. The Car Battery powers the starter motor, supplies the ignition and fuel injection, operates the components such as the radio when the engine is off, and maintains the clock and memory when the Scion tC is not running. There are three lead-acid types: conventional flooded, flooded maintenance-free, and absorbed glass mat, all containing six cells with each providing 12 volts. Conventional units require water. Maintenance-free units require less service and can leak acid when broken. AGM is surrounded in a glass mat that does not leak, gassing is eliminated, it charges faster, provides cranking power, and is not damaged by shock or vibration. The auto operation and jam protection alongside remote operation functions require motor reset manually through each Power Window Switch since they cannot be reset remotely using the master switch. Resetting more than one motor at a simultaneous moment will cause excessive current. Extended operation of the power window switch causes the motor to stop for safety then further usage of the switch leads to blinking lights along with limitations to auto up and remote control functions. Users must wait for a short time then activate the motor reset procedure. The procedure for reset involves starting the ignition while positioning the power window half-open then holding the switch until the window closes while maintaining pressure for 1 second. The auto up/down operation should be checked for normal functionality but if it fails to work disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal for 10 seconds followed by reconnection of the terminal and re-execute previous steps. To check if the function operates normally, repeat this reset method by holding the switch for thirteen seconds after it closes. Users must reset the sliding roof drive gear (motor) during situations when the battery disconnects or when drive gear connections change, when the sliding roof needs install or replacement. The sliding roof system needs users to first turn on the ignition switch and use the close switch for 2 seconds until the roof opens slightly. The hall IC could be malfunctioning because of which the sliding roof auto operation does not function after initialization and this issue requires replacement of the drive gear assembly (sliding roof control ECU). The user must reset the drive gear first before replacing the sliding roof driver gear (sliding roof control ECU) if the jam protection function remains inoperative.
