The Air Intake Coupling is a silicone connector in itself, whose primary task is to provide the connection between the air box and throttle body to absorb engine motion to avoid disturbing the clean air stream. It is easy to install a new Scion Air Intake Coupling. Park on flat ground, make sure that the engine is properly cooled and open the hood. Loose the clamps, disconnect hoses or sensors and slide away the old piece. Wipe off the stubs, bring the fresh part into shape, fit it into position, and clamp it firmly, and reconnect lines. Turn the car on and hear hissing that would indicate leaks. The visual inspection of Air Intake Coupling after a limited run will verify the performance and will ensure that everything is tight.
