2010 Toyota Yaris A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and replace the A/C Condenser for a hatchback on 2010 Toyota Yaris?
A: A proper HVAC condenser removal process for the hatchback requires refrigerant discharge from the refrigeration system as the first step. The cable disconnect should be done from the negative battery terminal before removing the front bumper cover. Proceed by taking off the radiator support absorber upper then continue by removing the No. 1 cooler cover. The hood lock assembly needs separation first when equipped with theft deterrent features and a second separation if no theft features exist. It is necessary to remove the upper section of the radiator support sub-assembly. First disconnect the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose by uninstalling the bolt to free the hose from the condenser and remove the discharge O-ring before using vinyl tape to stop moisture and foreign substances from accessing the open sections. Plug the openings of the liquid tube sub-assembly A with vinyl tape while you remove the bolt and disconnect it from the cooler condenser. Take out the O-ring from the liquid tube before resealing the holes with tape. Finally you should disengage both claws to extract the condenser from the vehicle with attention to avoid condenser or radiator damage.
