2010 Toyota Yaris A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Install an A/C Condenser in a Hatchback on 2010 Toyota Yaris?
A: Air conditioning condenser installation for hatchbacks requires users to handle the 2 claws when merging the condenser into position through the vehicle while avoiding damage to either the condenser or radiator parts. A fresh condenser installation requires the addition of 40cc (1.35 fl. oz.) ND-OIL8 compressor oil or equivalent oil type into the condenser. After removing the attached vinyl tape from the liquid tube sub-assembly A, apply sufficient ND-OIL8 compressor oil to both a new O-ring and the pipe joint surface before installing the O-ring onto the liquid tube and tightening it to the condenser using a bolt at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). For the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose installation you should begin by removing the vinyl tape and then coating the O-ring along with the fitting surface with compressor oil before placing the O-ring on the condenser followed by tightening a bolt which requires a torque setting of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). You must install the radiator support sub-assembly upper part together with the hood lock assembly and its optional theft deterrent system and No. 1 cooler cover and radiator support absorber upper and front bumper cover before hood lock alignment. After connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal with 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) torque both refrigerant charging and engine warming and leak detection must be performed.
