2009 Toyota Yaris A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the A/C Condenser from a sedan's HVAC system on 2009 Toyota Yaris?
A: The condenser extraction from a sedan HVAC system begins with refrigerant discharge from the refrigeration system and negative battery cable disconnection followed by the positive terminal. The next step requires removing the front spoiler cover together with the front bumper cover and the No. 1 cooler cover. First separate the hood lock assembly no matter the presence of a theft deterrent system then perform the removal of the radiator support sub-assembly upper. The process starts by disconnecting the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose through bolt removal and separation from the cooler condenser; the discharge hose O-ring is next removed before applying vinyl tape to cover the opened components against moisture and foreign materials. The liquid tube sub-assembly can be disconnected by uninstalling the bolt and separating the tube from the condenser and removing the O-ring from the tube. The disconnection points will be sealed using vinyl tape. After disengaging the two claws one should carefully take the condenser outside of the vehicle while avoiding damage to either the condenser or radiator in the extraction process.
