2009 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the A/C Compressor and pulley on 2009 Toyota Yaris?
A: When installing the HVAC compressor and its pulley for the 1NZ-FE engine start by adjusting the compressor oil quality by repeating the venting process on the service valve while draining oil from the new compressor until the removed compressor matches its quantity then use ND-OIL8 compressor oil. Securely fasten the HVAC compressor using a bolt and use the provided 4 bolts to achieve 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf) torque according to the specified tightening sequence. Begin by connecting the connector followed by installing the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose after unwinding the vinyl tape and coating its surface and new O-ring with ND-OIL8 and fitting them to the discharge hose which should be bolted to the compressor with a torque of 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf). Succeed this procedure when fitting the No. 1 cooler refrigerant suction hose. The following procedure includes engine under cover installation followed by negative battery terminal cable connection at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) torque. Then charge the refrigerant and allow engine heating while inspecting for refrigerant leaks.
