2010 Scion xB Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Remove a Seat Belt Assembly on 2010 Scion xB?
A: The first step to remove the front seat outer belt assembly requires disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. Working from the front to rear and top to bottom requires first removing the scuff plates from both doors after which you must take out the door opening trim Weather Strips to obtain access to the center pillar upper and lower garnish. The process starts with pulling portion A to disengage the claws on the center pillar lower garnish as well as the seat belt anchor cover cap. The removal process for the lap belt outer anchor cover RH involves unfastening 3 claws while the LH lap belt outer anchor cover needs its claws to be removed similarly. First disconnect the seat belt tension sensor connector while releasing the wiring harness clamp and remove the bolt and anchor plate along with the second bolt and through anchor. The pretensioner connector can be disengaged through the removal of its locking button followed by the connector disconnect process. Complete the front seat outer belt assembly procedure by taking out both 2 bolts and 2 hooks with the retractor from the RH and LH front seat positions. The front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly needs removing by extracting the 2 bolts together with the hook and adjuster. You should also remove the center pillar upper garnish and unfasten the 2 claws to remove the shoulder belt anchor cover.
