Scion xB Seat Belt Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Remove a Seat Belt Assembly on Scion xB?
A: The first step to remove the front seat outer belt assembly is to disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Proceed by taking off the front and rear door scuff plates and front and rear door opening trim Weather Strips so workers can access the center pillar upper and lower garnish. First dissolve the center pillar lower garnish followed by breaking the seat belt anchor cover cap and pulling portion A to release the claws. Finish with disengaging the lap belt outer anchor covers from both right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) sides. When working on the front passenger side you need to unplug the seat belt tension sensor connector, release the wiring harness clamp, remove the bolt together with the anchor plate then the bolt combined with the through anchor. You need to unplug the pretensioner connector after opening the locking button and separating it from the system. Afterward remove the two bolts together with two hooks along with the retractor. The driver side requires removal of bolts from both anchor plate and through anchor followed by pretensioner connector disconnection similar to the passenger side and subsequent removal of two bolts, two hooks and the retractor. Remove the center pillar upper garnish and disengage the claws to remove the shoulder belt anchor cover and finish by taking out the two bolts and hook and adjuster from the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly.
