2010 Scion xB Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and replace the radiator on 2010 Scion xB?
A: The process of removing the radiator starts by emptying all materials from the refrigeration system. Begin by removing the No. 1 radiator grille garnish and then proceed with removing the radiator grille before extracting the front bumper cover. The engine coolant drainage completes first before disassembling the battery terminals and removing the battery carrier bolt along with the nut for extraction and finally removing the battery insulator and battery plus the battery tray. To separate the No. 1 water hose clamp bracket users must disconnect both water hoses while removing its two bolts. The hood lock control cable assembly can be detached by unfastening it from the hood lock through clamp disengagement. The hood lock support sub-assembly needs removal after disconnecting both honey connectors and removing the two bolts. One should first disengage the heated oxygen sensor wire harness clamp before disconnecting the inlet radiator hose then proceeding to disconnect the outlet radiator hose. The service procedure starts by extracting the two radiator support cushions from the No. 2 fan shroud. Then separate the two fan motor connectors and remove the two bolts which allow complete extraction of the No. 2 fan shroud. The discharge hose sub-assembly and air conditioning tube and accessory assembly need to be separated before removing the condenser. The radiator assembly removal process begins with disconnecting the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the radiator followed by electric conduit access to independent racks of the automatic transaxle cooling system. Finish the operation by first removing the two lower radiator supports followed by separated clamp removal of the fan shroud and extracting both inlet and outlet radiator hoses from the radiator. Then take out the two bolts to complete the fan shroud removal.
