2010 Scion tC Power Steering Pump Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and replace the Power Steering Pump on 2010 Scion tC?
A: Remove the power steering vane pump by starting with wheel and power steering fluid removal from the front right position. You should start by removing the front fender apron seal from the right side before continuing with fan and generator V belt removal. Prepare to disconnect the No. 1 oil reservoir to pump hose while removing its clip to avoid V belt fluid contamination. After holding the pressure port union with a 27 mm wrench, remove the bolt from the pressure feed tube assembly to detach the tube from the pump bracket rear and remove the bolt gasket. You need to remove the connector from the oil pressure switch by using Special Service Tool: 09249-63010 while applying a 14 mm deep socket on the two bolts to uninstall the vane pump assembly.
