2009 Toyota Venza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the Rack And Pinion on 2009 Toyota Venza?
A: A proper approach to remove the 1AR-FE rack and pinion starts by guaranteeing the front wheels point forward in 2WD before using a seat belt to lock the steering wheel thus protecting the spiral cable from unintended rotation. The 2WD maintenance process requires front wheel removal followed by elimination of the No. 1 No. 2 and No. 3 engine undercovers. Use temporary indicators to mark the steering intermediate shaft assembly along with the steering link assembly before removing the bolt for separation of the steering intermediate shaft assembly from the steering link assembly. Using Special Service Tool: 09960-20010 on the left tie rod end requires the operator to maintain alignment with its upper ends before managing the removal of the cotter pin and nut. The tool enables users to remove the tie rod end from the steering knuckle while they apply grease to the threads and end of the tool bolt along with ensuring proper fastening to prevent tool movement. Proceed with the same steps for uninstalling the right tie rod assembly. The 2WD users must first remove the front floor brace before removing both front No. 1 stabilizer brackets from each side. To disconnect the front stabilizer bar with bracket from the front frame assembly reveal the steering link assembly by first loosening bolts and nuts while keeping the nut stationary. The engine assembly with transaxle must be removed first followed by separation of front No. 1 stabilizer brackets and the front stabilizer bar with bracket for AWD vehicles. Both connecting rods for AWD must be removed identically to 2WD before marking assembly components on each side then loosening nuts to take out rod assemblies.
