How to install the steering wheel on 2009 Toyota Venza?

The first step for steering wheel installation consists of attaching 2 steering pad screws to the bottom steering wheel boss cover before fastening the lower steering wheel boss to the steering wheel sub-assembly with screws followed by securing the 2 pins. Then fit the two pins to connect the No. 1 steering wheel ornament (without microphone) to the steering wheel sub-assembly and install the screw under 2.4 Nm (25 kgf-cm, 21 in-lbf) torque. The installation of the steering pad switch LH (without microphone) to the steering wheel sub-assembly requires using 2 pins and installing a screw of the same torque specification. You must connect 2 pins to both right and left sides of the steering wheel sub-assembly and secure them with screws at 2.4 Nm (25 kgf-cm, 21 in-lbf). The system requires installation of the cruise control switch wire and cruise control main switch. The steering wheel sub-assembly needs a steering wheel damper which should be installed followed by screwing it down with 2 screws that require 2.4 Nm (25 kgf-cm, 21 in-lbf) torque. Complete the steering wheel assembly installation by first aligning match marks between steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft and then use 50 Nm torque on the steering wheel assembly set nut and proceed to connect spiral cable sub-assembly connectors. Insert the steering pad followed by both the lower steering wheel covers numbered 3 and 2. Follow these steps for connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal while keeping the front wheels directly ahead before initialization may be necessary depending on the system. Check the operation of the steering pad together with the SRS warning light for correct functionality.
