- Q: How to install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly on 2009 Toyota Venza?A: The installation process requires a bolt and 4 nuts to be tightened according to the specifications that include 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48in-lbf) Nut (A) and 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53in-lbf) Nut (B) along with 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53in-lbf) for the bolt before attaching the assembly to the backing plate with 2 bolts tightened to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71in-lbf). Repeat the installation of the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly according to the provided procedure. Follow the given instructions when installing the No. 2 parking brake shoe assembly with parking brake shoe lever. The rear wheel receives a torque of 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76ft-lbf) while the No. 2 and No. 3 parking brake cable assemblies get connected to the parking brake equalizer where slits should face upward. The Parking Brake Equalizer becomes connected by the No. 4 parking brake cable assembly through two bolts torqued to 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15ft-lbf) when the rubber boot engagement completes the process. Use the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly to pass through the parking brake pedal assembly and install a new clip before depressing the pedal to bring it to its resting point where you bend the pedal claw to wrap around the cable. Finally, release the pedal after completion. Following instruction install the parking brake pedal assembly.
