2009 Toyota Tundra Radiator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the radiator assembly on 2009 Toyota Tundra?
A: The radiator bracket hooks should be placed into radiator support holes prior to installing the radiator by using 4 bolts with 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf) torque. You should start by installing the radiator side deflector RH using six clips simultaneously while following with the installation of LH deflector using another set of six clips and applying the wire harness clamp. You must connect the fan pulley to the water pump before placing the shroud with the coupling fan between the heat exchanger and engine while maintaining the radiator core's safety. Secure the fluid coupling fan to the water pump through 4 nuts before hand-tightening them as much as possible then install the shroud claws to the radiator and fasten it with 2 bolts specifically torqued to 6.5 Nm (66 kgf-cm, 58 in-lbf). The radiator tank upper receives the reservoir hose along with installing the fan and generator V-belt and using 21 Nm torque (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) to tighten the 4 fluid coupling fan nuts. Attach radiator hose openings while adding engine coolant before checking for any leakage. The last step includes mounting the V-bank cover while installing the No. 1 under cover.
