• Q: How to install the clutch master cylinder assembly on 2009 Toyota Tacoma?

  A: The clutch master cylinder installation requires the attachment of two bolts which should be torqued at 16 Nm (158 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf). Before moving forward you should fasten the clutch start switch to the assembly using a 16 Nm (160 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf) torque. The clutch master cylinder should be connected through Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to the 2 way tube at 15 Nm torque before adding the clutch reservoir tube. The clutch pedal installation with clutch master cylinder requires 2 nuts and a bolt which must be tightened to 14 Nm (145 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) screw torque while the bolt reaches 24 Nm (245 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf). Once this is complete connect the clutch start switch connector. Connect the driver side junction block followed by installing the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel and the cowl side trim board LH and the front door scuff plate LH. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to connect the clutch master cylinder with the flexible hose tube while torquing it to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf). Then install the clutch reservoir tube. Bleed both the brake line (without VSC) and clutch pipe line followed by clutch pedal sub-assembly inspection and adjustment as well as brake fluid leakage inspection (without VSC) and clutch fluid leakage examination before checking the reservoir fluid level.
