How to remove the ignition switch assembly on 2009 Toyota Sienna?

The first step to separate the 2GR-FE starting system ignition switch assembly requires users to remove the cable from the negative battery terminal. Make room on the lower steering column by unlocking the key cylinder steering lock and twisting the wheel right to remove one screw and left to uncover another screw. To fully remove the lower steering column cover you must detach the 4 claws which are located on its surface. The disconnect of the ignition switch connector needs to be followed by screw removal for the ignition switch before proceeding with the removal process.
