The first step to remove the fuel level sensor is draining fuel system pressure. The elimination of power starts by disconnecting the negative battery cable. You should detach the fuel suction tube assembly from the fuel tank assembly. The 4WD models require users to disconnect their fuel level sensor connector without damaging the wire harness before releasing the lock and drawing out the fuel level sensor assembly with attention to avoid damage between the fuel level sensor arm and tank. The 2WD model will require exactly the same service steps that the 4WD model uses. The No. 2 rear floor service hole cover should be removed for 4WD before disconnecting the fuel level sensor connector and removing all 5 bolts from the fuel level sensor RH assembly while taking care to protect the arm from bending.
