How to remove the intake manifold on 2009 Toyota Matrix?

In order to do away with the intake manifold on a 2AZ-FE engine, release fuel pressure, unscrew the negative battery contact and take out several parts such as the wipers assemblies and the outer cowl top panel. Drain coolant, pull off the air cleaner and throttle body, unscrew the hoses and lastly, the intake manifold and gasket.
