The fuel level sensor gauge is used to install in 4WD, so it can be installed using 5 bolts at 1.5 Nm and connect the sensor gauge. In the case of 2WD, push it down keeping the arm straight. Install the fuel suction tube, negative battery terminal, and leak check and cover service hole.

How to replace a Fuel Level Sensor on Toyota Matrix?

In order to replace the fuel level sensor, release the pressure of the fuel system and remove the negative battery terminal. To access 4WD (and also 2WD) models, take out the fuel suction tube assembly and unplug the sensor connector. In the case of 4WD, then take away the rear floor service hole cover along with 5 bolts without bending the sensor arm.
