• Q: How to install the fuel injector assembly on 2009 Toyota Matrix?

  A: A light coating of gasoline or spindle oil should be applied to new O-rings before installing them onto each fuel injector of the 2AZ-FE engine. Following the application of a light gasoline or spindle oil coating to both the fuel delivery pipe segment near the fuel injector O-ring and the O-ring itself, install the right and left fuel injectors onto the fuel delivery pipe keeping the O-ring free of damage and displacement during the installation process. The smooth operation of the fuel injector requires checking during installation; replace the O-ring if the rotate is stiff. The fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly requires installation of 4 new insulators onto the cylinder head which must be followed by placement of 2 delivery pipe spacers. Fasten the 2 bolts on the fuel delivery pipe equipped with the 4 fuel injectors while maintaining safe delivery of the injectors. Tighten the two bolts on the fuel injector to 20 Nm (205 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf) torque after testing injector rotation and exchanging the O-ring as necessary. Before this, ensure to attach all 4 fuel injector connectors and 2 wire harness clamps. Mount the No. 2 ventilation hose to the ventilation valve but keep it in the proper marked position with the hose clamp orientated correctly. The fuel main tube requires connection by pressing the tube connector until it locks into place afterward installing and securing the fuel pipe clamp over the hose clamp. Start with attaching the air cleaner cap sub-assembly while incorporating the hose before adding the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly. Connect the cable to the negative terminal while checking for any fuel leakage in the system.
