• Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2008 Toyota Matrix?

  A: The first step of servicing or repairing the fuel injector for the 1ZZ-FE engine requires emptying fuel system pressure. First disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal before removing the No. 2 cylinder head cover by removing its 2 clips and 2 nuts. The ventilation hose connected to the cylinder head cover needs to be disconnected first. The first task requires disconnection of four fuel injector connectors then removal of the clamp brackets' three harness clamps together with removal of fuel pipe clamp number one. Disconnect the fuel tube by pinching the retainer of the fuel tube connector while extracting it from the pipe so no dirt can enter the connector then store this component with a plastic bag. Apply gentle wiggling motion or pushing and pulling when pipe and connector remain stuck. Pull out the fuel delivery pipe and attached fuel injectors after removing three bolts while being mindful not to let them fall. After which disconnect the 2 delivery pipe spacers and 4 insulators from the cylinder head before pulling out the 4 fuel injectors through the fuel delivery pipe.
