Q: How to remove the luggage Car Speakers on 2009 Toyota Matrix?
A: The procedure for removing the luggage speaker requires removal of the rear door scuff plate and rear door opening trim Weather Strip starting from both RH and LH sides of the vehicle. Start by removing the rear seat cushion assembly together with the rear seat headrest assembly and rear seat center headrest assembly. Remove the rear seat center outer belt assembly as initial step before you take away the rear seatback outer hinge cover and rear seatback inner hinge cover. The procedure involves unfastening the rear seatback assembly and tonneau cover assembly (if present) in addition to deck board assembly and No. 2 deck board. Start by taking out the jack carrier assembly and jack assembly and then move on to the deck floor boxes from both left-hand side and right-hand side of the vehicle. Remove the child restraint tether anchor and the luggage compartment tray as well as the rear deck trim cover. Start the procedure by removing the rear seatback hinge sub-assembly together with the rear seat side garnish followed by disconnecting the rear seat 3 point type belt assembly. Both sides need the same procedure to uninstall the luggage hold belt striker assembly along with the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook. To complete the task disconnect the connector along with removing all 4 bolts from the side deck trim panel assembly and No. 1 speaker assembly with box.
