2009 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the radiator on 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The radiator removal process begins by dislodging the upper radiator support seal followed by a removal of the radiator grille alongside the front bumper cover. Take off the transmission oil cooler air duct when your vehicle comes with air-cooled transmission oil cooler by removing its 4 securing bolts. Models without the air-cooled transmission oil cooler need removal of 4 clips with a clip remover from the right-hand radiator side deflector followed by identical steps on the left-hand side deflector. The service requires workers to begin by taking off both left and right front fender splash shields before moving forward to the No. 1 engine under cover assembly. Drain the engine coolant first. After that remove both the V-bank cover sub-assembly along with the air cleaner hose assembly. The fan shroud removal process begins by disconnecting No. 1 and No. 2 radiator hoses while you loosen 4 fan support fan holder nuts followed by a sequence of steps including fan and generator V-belt removal along with reservoir hose detachment from the upper radiator tank and flexible hose clamp claw detachment if an air-cooled transmission oil cooler is present before using 2 oil cooler tube bolts to disconnect the tube from the shroud. Finish the process by taking off the 2 bolts which secure the fan shroud after unwiring the fluid coupling fan's 4 nuts while maintaining care of the radiator core during fan shroud removal. You should start by removing the fan pulley and disconnecting both oil cooler hoses then remove the radiator assembly by removing its 4 bolts.
