The first step requires both the removal of the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly and the cool air intake duct seal. Unplug the No. 1 engine under cover before draining the engine coolant. Vacuum switching valve No. 1 plus engine cover assembly No. 1 need to be removed at this time. You must disconnect the mass air flow meter connector followed by separating the hose from its clamp and unscrewing the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover and then detaching the hose and both vacuum hoses with clamps from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. The hose band release lets you detach the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the throttle body assembly and the removal of its securing bolts becomes possible. The fuel tube needs to be detached from its clamp after disconnecting the throttle body assembly connector while removing the four bolts which secure the throttle body assembly and fuel tube bracket along with the bolt and the bracket from the intake manifold.
