The first step starts with taking off the back window upper trim panel assembly then proceed to remove the back door trim cover LH (without Power Back Door) or the back door service hole cover LH (with Power Back Door). Lastly disconnect the power back door rod if installed. Remove successively from right to left the back door trim cover RH together with the back door lock cover (applies to Glass Hatch Type) and the assist strap hole cover followed by the assist strap assembly and finally the back door trim panel assembly. The technician should first remove the rear wiper shaft cover (for Glass Hatch Type), then continue with the sequence of removing rear wiper arm head cap followed by rear wiper arm and blade assembly while also removing the rear wiper link cap (for Glass Hatch Type) and rear wiper motor grommet (for Fixed Glass Type) and the rear wiper link pivot (for Glass Hatch Type) and finally the entire rear wiper motor assembly (for both Fixed Glass Type and Glass Hatch Type). After separating the glass guide bracket sub-assembly from the back door of Fixed Glass Type vehicles you must safely remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly by taping the back door for protection and disconnecting the wire harness while maintaining its safety from being caught between door and body. The next steps include turning back the wire harness grommet and disengaging the four claws before pulling the wire harness. The procedure requires disconnecting two connectors along with disconnection of the rear washer hose and following steps to unplug the grommet. It is possible to remove the rear spoiler sub-assembly by using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30) to take out 2 screws (A) and 6 screws (B) and then freeing the 2 claws so you can elevate and depress the glass hatch and back door while pulling out the wire harness.
