2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the water pump on 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: Starting the process to remove the water pump requires disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. You must start by removing the fan then proceed to remove the V-bank cover before the air cleaner assembly. Then, remove the generator assembly. Performance of the water inlet procedure requires removal of 2 radiator hoses combined with 5 water by-pass hoses along with the 5 bolts securing the water inlet and the O-ring from water outlet pipe and gasket from water pump. The deterioration process involves stripping away the No. 2 idler pulley sub-assembly next followed by cooler compressor separation then V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly extraction. After vane pump disassembly you must remove the water pump and gasket while taking out the 17 bolts.
