2009 Toyota Corolla Crankshaft Seal Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the front Crankshaft Seal on 2009 Toyota Corolla?
A: A 2ZR-FE engine requires users to begin front crankshaft oil seal removal by taking off the front right wheel then the right side engine under cover. Following the removal of the V-ribbed belt comes the order to take off the No. 2 cylinder head cover. Apply Special Service Tools 09213-58013 09330-00021 to the crankshaft pulley through its hole while using this tool to prevent the fixing bolts from touching the timing chain cover sub-assembly. The removal of the crankshaft pulley and its bolt depends on using Special Service Tools 09950-50013 09951-05010. To access the timing chain cover oil seal you should use a knife to remove its lip followed by using a tape-wrapped screwdriver to pry it out. You should examine the crankshaft for damage at the end of your work. In case you spot damage you should use 400-grit sandpaper to smooth out the affected areas.
