2009 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the Blend Door Actuator in both Manual and Automatic Air Conditioning Systems on 2009 Toyota Corolla?
A: Theinstallation of air inlet control servo motor needs two screws for both Manual and Automatic Air Conditioning Systems. Installed first is the blower assembly vacancy and then the blower assembly containing the PTC Heater. The next step involves installation of the No. 2 air duct sub-assembly while using only spare hand tools to secure the air conditioning unit. The instrument panel reinforcement assembly receives installation for both Manual and Automatic Air Conditioning Systems before the air conditioning unit is added into place. Professional staff should start by removing the rear No. 1 air duct then they must install the No. 2 instrument panel brace sub-assembly and the No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly for each system. The job requires installing the rear No. 3 and No. 2 air ducts followed by the center instrument panel to cowl brace, lower defroster nozzle assembly, and No. 1 air duct sub-assembly. The smart key ECU assembly should be installed first if equipped along with the lower instrument panel sub-assembly, No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly, and console box assembly for Manual and Automatic Transaxles. Both Manual and Automatic Transaxle systems require installation of the console box carpet along with upper console panel sub-assembly and No. 1 switch hole base. The next step involves putting in the front No. 1 and No. 2 console inserts and No. 2 instrument panel under cover as well as cowl side trim and front door scuff plates for both sides. The Manual Air Conditioning Systems require an air conditioning panel assembly installation along with Automatic Air Conditioning Systems needing their air conditioning control assembly installed. The technician should install the instrument panel hole cover alongside the instrument panel box assembly and center No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel assembly for both transaxles. Both transaxles should receive the shift lever knob sub-assembly while receiving radio receivers with brackets that serve without navigation systems and center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assemblies with optional navigation system components and navigation receiver with bracket setups. Place the steering post assembly according to both engine types but maintain direct wheel alignment at the front position. The technician must connect all three components which include the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly, stop light switch assembly, and No. 3 air duct sub-assembly. The instrument panel sub reinforcement must be installed alongside column hole cover silencer sheet and transponder key amplifier except for the smart key system and turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly. Put the steering column covers in place before adjusting the spiral cable when the front wheels are straight ahead. You should install the steering wheel assembly followed by the steering pad alongside the lower steering wheel covers. The center point of the steering wheel should be examined before adding the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly along with power steering ECU assembly for both engine types and upper instrument panel sub-assembly. The technician should attach all instrument panel wires together with both front door Weather Strips and then put on the lower instrument panel finish panel followed by the No. 1 instrument panel box door along with the glove compartment door. Install the front pillar garnish for both left and right sides, with or without curtain shield Air Bags, before installing the combination meter assembly and then proceed with the instrument cluster finish panel assembly, center instrument panel register assembly, instrument panel finish panel ends for both sides. Use both sides of lower instrument panel finish panels to install all assembly components including heater outlet and inlet water hoses and air conditioning tube assembly and suction pipe sub-assembly. The installer must add the outer cowl top panel for TMC made cases while installing windshield wiper motor and link assembly, cowl top ventilator louver LH, center No. 1 cowl top ventilator louver, and front wiper arm and blade assemblies for both sides except TMC made cases. Refrigerant charging plus addition of engine coolant should be performed simultaneously for both engine variants before connecting the negative battery cable and inspecting for coolant leaks during both procedures. Perform a check of the steering pad followed by inspection of the SRS warning light while simultaneously heating the engine and looking for any refrigerant leaks.
