How to remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) on 2009 Scion tC?

You must disconnect the negative battery terminal cable in the first step toward removing the 2AZ-FE engine control system ECM. After cable separation you must wait at least 90 seconds to prevent Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The glove compartment door should be removed as the subsequent step. Disconnection of the wire harness clamp precedes the process of disconnecting each of the 4 ECM connectors to remove the ECM successfully. The ECM removal process ends with the removal of the bolt along with screw and the ECM.
