How to service the Air Bag Control Module on 2009 Scion tC?

Code the negative cable then disconnect from the negative battery terminal before waiting for ninety seconds to prevent the Air Bags from deploying. Service on the manual transaxle requires removal of the shift lever knob sub-assembly. After that remove the front console upper panel assembly then the console upper rear panel sub-assembly along with the rear console box assembly. The next step includes disconnecting Air Bag sensor connectors after which the center Air Bag sensor assembly can be removed by taking out three securing bolts.
