Start by taking out the instrument panel under tray which serves the pedal type parking brake system or the instrument panel hole cover for the lever type parking brake system. Begin by removing the console upper rear panel sub-assembly of automatic or manual transmission systems on separate seat types before moving onto the rear console box assembly of separate seats. Both the cup holder tray and front console box must be taken off from instrument panels of cars with automatic or manual transmissions across various seat styles. Next in the procedure you will remove the air conditioning control assembly together with the radio receiver assembly. The technician should start by dissembling the hood lock control lever sub-assembly before taking off the No. 1 lower instrument panel finish panel and the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly with the instrument cluster center finish panel sub-assembly. Continue the procedure by taking out the lower instrument panel LH along with the instrument lower cover sub-assembly. To remove the cigarette lighter cover use your fingers to open the two claws and then detach the cigarette lighter assembly by unscrewing the knob and element assembly followed by counterclockwise socket rotation to free the claw then pushing out the socket toward the room side until it lines up with the cigarette lighter bezel stay notch.
