  • Q: How do you install the rear Suspension Strut Rod assembly on 2008 Toyota Solara?
    A: You can install the rear strut rod assembly by first installing the bumper, bolt, and nut to the temporary rear strut rod but inserting the bolt through the inner vehicle side. Secondly connect the strut rod (front side) to both bolt and nut before tightening the bolt in place. Tighten the suspension by using a jack that raises the rear axle carrier through a wood block to protect it from damage and apply force to put the installed bolt of the suspension arm assembly No. 1 (inner vehicle side) in a direct line with the center of the rear axle hub. You should completely tighten the rear strut rod assembly bolts to their 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) and 113 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft-lbf) torque specifications. At the same time install the parking brake cable with its bolt torqued to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf). Tighten the rear wheel to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf) while ensuring a proper inspection of the rear wheel alignment.
