2008 Toyota Solara Shock Absorber Parts Q&A
Q: How to install the front shock absorber assembly on 2008 Toyota Solara?
A: Begin by installing the front shock absorber with coil spring then fasten it with 3 upper side nuts at 85 Nm (867 kgf-cm, 63 ft-lbf) torque setting while keeping the 2 washers inside the front suspension upper brace center space. The 2 bolts and 2 nuts need to be fitted to the lower portion of the front shock absorber with coil spring before tightening them to 210 Nm (2,140 kgf-cm, 155 ft-lbf) and stopping the bolt rotation. Complete tightening of the lock nut requires torque of 70 Nm (714 kgf-cm, 52 ft-lbf). Fasten the front flexible hose No. 1 with the speed sensor front LH using a bolt that needs a torque of 19 Nm (192 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). Proceed to install the front stabilizer link assembly LH while using a hexagon wrench (6 mm) to secure the stud if the ball joint begins to turn with the nut. Fasten the nut using a torque of 74 Nm (755 kgf-cm, 55 ft-lbf). Bear in mind to install the front wheel while torquing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf) and execute necessary front wheel alignment adjustments and checks afterward.
