2008 Toyota Sequoia Window Motor Parts Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Back Window Motor on 2008 Toyota Sequoia?
A: The procedure for back door power window motor dismantling starts with center garnish removal followed by right-hand side back door side garnish remove and left-hand side side garnish removal. The second step requires removing both the back door strap cover and back door pull strap. The service hole cover for the back door must be taken off followed by separation of the back door trim board assembly. First disconnect the power back door before taking off both the No. 2 back door service hole cover and the multiplex network body ECU. The next procedure requires removal of all components including rear wiper arm head cap and rear wiper blade assembly and rear wiper motor assembly with rear wiper motor grommet. Start by taking off the linear wiper step from the right-hand side before unclipping the five moldings to detach the left-hand side back door outside moldings. Repeat this same procedure for the right-hand side. Perform this step regarding the back door glass outer Weather Strip assembly and both the back door glass run and the back door glass. The last step involves taking off the back door power window regulator assembly followed by removing the right-hand side power window regulator motor assembly which requires removing its three nuts and motor before unscrewing the two screws attached to the power window regulator base plate while extracting the drum and wire guide from the motor with needle nose pliers without using a screwdriver or similar tool.
