The engine oil drain occurs when you remove the oil filler cap along with the oil drain plug to collect the oil in a container. Special Service Tool: 09228-06501 serves to remove the existing oil filter sub-assembly. Start by cleaning the surface for new oil filter mount and adding fresh engine oil to the gasket of a clean filter. Use Special Service Tool: 09228-06501 to tighten the new oil filter until the gasket contacts the seat before securing it with hand tightening. You should use a torque wrench to achieve 17.2 Nm (175 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf) when tightening the oil filter but hand tightening or using a regular wrench is acceptable if a torque wrench cannot fit. Install the new oil drain plug along with its gasket afterward by using a torque to achieve 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf) tightness. Fill the regular oil capacity with clean engine oil before putting back the oil filler cap. Examine for oil leakage while reattaching the No. 1 engine under cover.
