    A: Service and repair of the power steering vane pump starts with removing its back bracket through bolt removal. The vane pump assembly should be fastened into a vise with Special Service Tools 09630-00014 09631-00132. First remove the bolt together with the power steering suction port union and then detach its O-ring from the union. Begin the service procedure by taking the pressure port union together with its O-ring first before removing the flow control valve and compression spring. Separate the power steering oil pressure switch with caution before installation, check for damages since replacement may be needed. Separate the four housing front bolts from the rear vane pump access and retrieve the O-ring present on the front housing. A screwdriver can disassemble the snap ring of the w/ pulley shaft sub-assembly before separating the assembly from its holding position. Extract the vane plates, vane pump rotor, vane pump cam ring one after another. The process involves taking out the pump housing front side plate while also extracting its O-ring with the addition of the front housing O-ring. Special Service Tool: 09631-10030 combined with a hammer should be utilized to remove the vane pump housing oil seal after making sure to safeguard the pump housing from damage.
