  A: You should start servicing and repairing the parking brake cable by first removing the rear wheel before moving on to the rear brake drum sub-assembly and front brake shoe which are part of drum type vehicles. Remove the parking brake shoe strut set LH together with the rear brake automatic adjust lever LH intended for drum type vehicles and the rear brake shoe fitted to drum type vehicles. During disc type vehicle servicing disconnect the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH followed by separating the rear disc. The service includes the removal of the parking brake shoe strut LH and the parking brake shoe adjusting screw set followed by the extraction of parking brake shoe assembly LH No. 1 and No. 2 and the parking brake shoe lever LH. Detach parking brake cable assembly No. 3 through the bolt then take it off from the backing plate. First separate the exhaust pipe assembly front then remove front floor heat insulator No. 1 and No. 2 followed by taking off 5 nuts from fuel tank protector No. 1. The last step includes disattaching Parking Brake Cable Assembly No. 3 through clip removal of the skid control sensor wire harness clip from the clamp followed by removing 4 bolts and cable retainer from the body and separating the cable assembly from the equalizer before removing the assembly.
