2008 Toyota Land Cruiser Brake Line Parts Q&A
Q: How to install the front Brake Line on 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step for mounting the front brake flexible hose involves attaching a new clip to the hose. You should join the flexible hose to the brake tube through either a union nut wrench with hand pressure from another wrench or direct torque application with 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) using a union nut wrench or 14 Nm (145 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf). A torque wrench with 300 mm (11.8 in.) fulcrum length should be used while maintaining union nut wrench parallel to the torque tool for precise torque adjustment. Be cautious not to warp or harm the brake tube and always secure the connection point against foreign objects coming inside. Install the bolt to 31 Nm (316 kgf-cm, 23 ft-lbf) torque followed by adding a new gasket then uniting the flexible hose through the union bolt with 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf) torque. The brake fluid should be filled into the reservoir following the installation steps and brake line must be bled properly before checking the fluid level and inspecting for leaks. Secure the front wheel by turning the bolt to 131 Nm (1336 kgf-cm / 97 ft-lbf).
