2008 Toyota Highlander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the steering angle sensor and ensure proper function of the SRS warning light on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: Installation of the steering angle sensor requires proper alignment of the 2 locating pins before engaging its 6 claws to join it with the spiral cable. First install the spiral cable with the steering angle sensor and follow it with installation of the steering column cover. The adjustment of spiral cable should be done before steering wheel assembly installation followed by a steering wheel center point inspection. After installing the steering pad you should add the lower No. 3 then lower No. 2 steering wheel covers before inspecting the steering pad one more time. To finish the installation connect the negative cable to the terminal yet ensure front wheels point straight forward during and after the connection process. The system could need an initialization process following cable reconnection. Verify that the SRS warning light shows proper function in the final part of the check.
