2008 Toyota Highlander Starter Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the starter motor assembly on 2008 Toyota Highlander?
A: The starter motor assembly installation for the 2GR-FE engine requires the use of two bolts which should be torqued at 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf). Start by connecting the starter connector and fastening the starter wire with a nut while applying a cap on top of it then tighten the nut to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf). Fasten the air cleaner bracket to its position with 2 bolts that should be torqued to 12 Nm (120 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). Start by installing the air cleaner case sub-assembly before adding the air cleaner cap sub-assembly followed by the No. 1 air cleaner inlet and No. 2 air cleaner inlet, then the battery before completing installation with the cool air intake duct seal.
